EGGNOG SMOOTHIE

Eggnog smoothie

It’s that time of year! Just in time for Christmas, here is a great smoothie that everyone can enjoy. Good for breakfast or dessert, it will put you in the holiday spirit! Greek yogurt is a great source of protein and a little eggnog and nutmeg will make this smoothie extra delicious. To make this into a real dessert substitute the yogurt for some vanilla ice-cream!
Ingredients: 2 servings
  • 1 Banana, peeled
  • 1 cup non-fat plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1 cup light Eggnog
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • Ground Nutmeg, optional

Instructions: Add all ingredients to the blender in the order of items listed, blend for 2 minutes. Garnish with ground nutmeg.

Valentine Day Smoothie

strawberry smoothieIngredients:

  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries
  • 1/2 cup fresh/frozen raspberries
  • 1 cup vanilla ice cream
  • 1/2 cup white grape juice or apple juice
  • chocolate syrup
  • whipped cream
  • Maraschino cherries, for garnish (optional)

Place the first 4 ingredients in a blender and mix on High until you have a uniform color and no chunks. Drizzle chocolate syrup  inside the serving glasses making sure you get down the sides.  You can make pretty swirls and designs.  Fill the glasses with smoothie mix and garnish with whipped cream, and extra drizzle of chocolate syrup, and cherries (only put the cherries on for folks not recovering from oral surgery!)
